Sabre

What better way to colorize your kitchen than to use Sabre acrylic flatware? Definitely these ‘Old Fashioned’ model acrylic pieces are one of my favorites.

Total eye candy! As it’s the holiday season, these would make great gifts. Think about pairing the salad servers with some gourmet oil and vinegar, teaspoons with tea, or even the cake server with a cake stand.

Antiquaria

Found Antiquaria through Design*Sponge and their store has a lot of lovely items. Well, with me, if it’s got glassware - I’m there. The store also sells custom calligraphy stamps, which are fun gifts for teachers or for anyone planning a wedding. There is also a magazine full of “seasonal inspiration” eye candy photographs.

James Jean Liber Novus Tote

Anyone who knows me, will probably know that I am a big James Jean fan. Though I tend to like his style of illustrations more than his paintings, they’re all beautiful. I especially love the work he’s done for Fables. He’s posted for sale in his online store the Liber Novus eco-bag. It was originally produced to promote a show in Tokyo. Needless to say, I bought it immediately.

Speaking of tote bags, I met him briefly at a signing a few years ago at Comic Con. Much to my embarassment, I had not planned ahead and brought something for him to sign. Not wanting to regret buying a print they were selling to people in line, out of desperation - I asked him to sign the canvas bag that I was using (which I had dyed a bamboo pattern on the canvas and sewn together). I think he might’ve been weirded out, but he was a good sport and drew a swan flying through the bamboo and signed it. I like to pretend it’s a Minna x James Jean collaboration.

So that’s my story - it was awesome, but awkward. *sigh* Oh well.

Rivieras x Thomsen

These shoes scream summer! They are a beautiful result of the Rivieras collaboration with Thomsen. Four limited edition shoes releases mid-May. Though mostly for retailers in France, online buyers have the chance grab a pair through Colette. Really want one of those ones with the Liberty of London fabrics… and the debate continues. Should I, or shouldn’t I? Maybe I will get a pair of Toms Cordones instead…

Nervous System

I always find inspiration from nature, so I find myself drawn to Nervous System designs. Partly because had I the machinery to make laser cuts and the knowledge for gold plating and such, I would probably have made similar items myself. Happily, Nervous System has been growing out their lines of jewelry to encompass housewares and lighting! I’m definitely excited to see what new things they’ll develop in the future.

A very unique wedding invitation by Kelli Anderson and the couple in question - just watch the video!

All I have to say is WHOA. How the heck does it work??

According to the article on geek.com:

“The needle follows the grooves of the record, and its vibrations are amplified by a thin, snappy paper that the needle is attached to. The back of the “tent” uses a heavier cardstock to keep the needle down on the record, and the inside of the booklet is laminated so that it’s slick and easy for the record to spin on.”

You can also read more about it on Kelli’s blog.

CB Perfume

I love perfume. It is a unique way to express yourself. (When used in a balanced way. It’s not that enjoyable when you walk into a wafting cloud of perfume so strong you might as well be drowning in a vat of it.)

Back on subject - although I have never had the chance to experience CB perfume for myself, I really enjoy the concept (as well as the minimalist packaging).  With names like “I am a Dandelion”, “Fire from Heaven” and “Gathering Apples”, scent is like a storyteller; a sensational experience in a bottle. I am particularly interested in the Tea Rose one among others (total sucker for fruit/plant “fresh” scents), so I will definitely have to check out a local retailer sometime.
